I believe that healthy people contribute to their families, jobs, communities and the world; and if they work on becoming their optimal selves this enhances all areas of their lives. I know that job stress, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, trauma, anger, and grief and loss can often present barriers for individuals to reach many of their personal goals. With support, encouragement, interventions, and compassionate care each person has the ability to grow, develop and make the changes they desire to enhance their lives.
I believe in using non-judgmental, empathetic, strength-based and supportive psychotherapy skills to empower people to explore, restore and enhance their lives. I primarily work with adults, adolescents, families, and couples. I earned my Master's degree in 1997 from SIC-Carbondale in Rehabilitation Counseling with a specialization in Addictions Counseling. I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) and a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. I have specialized training in Prepare/Enrich, Gottman Couples Therapy, trauma informed care, and substance use disorders. I have 23 years of experience providing care, supportive counseling and psychotherapy and I am committed to continuing to assist people in need.
