(she/her)
Life can be challenging, unpredictable and unsettling at times. You may feel a lack of hope or be uncertain of your purpose. If you are struggling with emotional or addictive illness, I know it can feel all encompassing and lonely.
I believe in your ability to heal, change, and move forward. I believe you hold the answers you seek within, sometimes it just requires support to unpack. I know you can replace unhealthy behaviors with more adaptive coping skills and rediscover a healthier you.
At this time, the weight of life stressors may fuel your desire for a safe therapeutic space. My therapeutic style is relaxed, relational, supportive, and strength based. I strive to create a space where you can be seen, heard, and valued. I love to work with adults from all walks of life. I also enjoy couples and family work.
I earned my masters degree in 2002 at Aurora University. I have provided therapeutic services to all demographics of all ages across the Chicagoland area. I have extensive experience working with individual adults diagnosed with trauma, mood disorders and addictive illness. I have training in aspects of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Marital and Family Therapy. I particularly enjoy working with adults navigating life transitions in areas of work, parenting, relationships and grief.
I have a great interest in working with people who are challenged with race related stress. I also have a passion for working with women: supporting you to strengthen your confidence to live authentically. I also utilize spiritual approaches based on your preferences.
Therapy is open to anyone looking to improve their mental wellness and self care. Prioritizing your emotional health is not a selfish act but a loving act of self-compassion.
Hope is awaiting you. I greatly look forward to working with you.
